The new long term policy report by the government states that the government shall create readiness to take in use congestion charging as well as electronic fee collection based on satellite positioning in the next decade. The Ministry of Transport and Communications in Finland is investigating now the congestion charging in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area.

ITS Finland is willing to support the process by organizing the Road-User Charging Think Tank with the best knowledge and a state of art of the discipline. The event was addressed to politicians at the Finnish parliament and cities as well as transport experts by the public and private sector.
